Pre-owned goods retailer Cash Converters has celebrated the success of its franchise network at its annual company conference.

The gala dinner was held at the Barcelo Hinckley Island Hotel, Leicestershire and recognised the hard work and dedication of Cash Converters’ franchise owners who collectively operate over 200 stores in the UK.

David Patrick, Chief Executive of Cash Converters, places a huge importance on the people behind the international brand. He said: “We are a customer service business and people are at the heart of everything we do. Our franchise owners deliver excellent results month after month, year after year, and have been instrumental in helping us reach our 200th store opening earlier this year.

“Our annual conference recongises the dedication and hard work put in by our franchise owners and their team. The two day event involves a series of hands on workshops and networking opportunities and culminates with the prestigious awards ceremony.”

According to the company, Cash Converters has seen double figure percentage increases for the last eight years, and a noticeable acceleration in growth during the last three years. Patrick added: “Our sharp looking stores, modern retailing practices, professional management techniques and high ethical standards which are present in all Cash Converters stores set us apart from the competition and ensure that we remain number one in the UK. Our franchise owners ensure that these standards are maintained and the growth of the business is a credit to their commitment and belief in the brand.”

Among the winners this year were franchise owners Shneen and Mike Stevenson (pictured above) who won store of the year for Cash Converters Plymouth. Carl Murray, who as Managing Director of Capital Cash owns 27 stores, was chosen by his peers as the winner of the prestigious Franchisees’ Franchisee of the Year award. Brian Stephenson and Sue Hodgkinson scooped the award for New Store of the Year after delivering great results over their first year of trading.

The conference also featured a trade exhibition and presentations from Cash Coverters’ Managing Director, Peter Cumins and David Patrick who spoke about the company’s strong end to the 2010/2011 financial year and its anticipated continued success and growth next year, with the aim of reaching 250 stores by mid 2012.

Patrick said: “It was great to welcome a number of new franchise owners to this year’s annual conference, as we expand our network we are recruiting new, ambitious franchise owners across the UK as well as witnessing experienced franchise owner store growth. This is a very exciting time to be involved with the company, we have a motivated company ethos with a strong global vision. People from all walks of life are recognising the benefits of the wide range of services on offer including, pawnbroking, spread the cost, buys, buybacks and selling helping us to retain our number one position.”
