The company states that a prime reason for the increase in high end applications is the economic downturn, which has forced many people to reconsider their careers. Franchise Director of Cash Generator Robin Page comments: 'Business in franchising has really come into its own in 2008 and we are delighted with the high standard of applications we have received and continue to do so.

'The economy is certainly encouraging people to apply for franchisee options and with our strong market position and continued growth we are attracting a large proportion of quality applications. After a fantastic year, we have set out ambitious plans for 2009. From expanding our portfolio of franchise stores year on year, with the aim of reaching out to entrepreneurs who want to invest in and manage multiple stores, to branching further south focusing on the vast M25 region.'

Cash Generator currently has over 80 stores throughout England, Scotland and Wales, which are both company owned and franchised. Each store offers a selection of pre-owned, brand new and graded items for sale as well as instant cash for goods and a host of financial services such as currency exchange and cheque cashing.
