CerTax Accounting franchise owner David Nicoll FFA has been named Midlands Business Person of the Year for 2009. He was presented with the award in the presence of Digby, Lord Jones of Birmingham Kt (pictured (L)'with David) at a gala ceremony on 30th January at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole hotel. Lord Jones, the former Director General of the CBI and Minister of State for Trade and Investment, was himself honoured at the ceremony for his lifetime contribution to business in the Midlands.

David who has owned and operated the Rugby & West Northamptonshire franchise since 2006, has expanded his business aggressively and last year grew his turnover by 178 per cent. With nine members of staff the business is currently on course to achieve growth of 60 per cent this year. It offers fixed pricing and unlimited telephone support to its clients and alongside its regular work has developed a strong niche offering in property taxation matters.

'Naturally, I am delighted to have won this award,' said David. 'It is a great achievement and a tribute to the team behind me at CerTax Accounting and shows just what can be done by taking an innovative approach to this business.'
