The day, organised by Recognition Express, started at 12.30 and finished at 6pm with a series of round robin games including a storming final between Dyno Group and Ovenu, followed by a hog roast for all supporters and players and finally the crowning of the champions. The stunning 1-0 victory by Dyno was received with rapturous applause from their bevy of supporters, whilst Ovenu set their stall out for revenge next year.
The tournament was held in aid of WellChild, the chosen charity of bfa Chairman and managing director of Recognition Express, Nigel Toplis. WellChild is dedicated to caring for sick children and their families through research and support - whatever their needs, whatever the cause.
The event is the latest in a series of bfa / Recognition Express fundraising activities for WellChild, which have raised more than £20,000 this year. Events have included the London Marathon, run by Zoë Waistell of Recognition Express, and the bfa Chairman's Golf Day sponsored by Lloyds TSB Bank.
Nigel Toplis said: 'We had a tremendous turnout and thanks go to the participating teams, Dyno Group, Ovenu, Printing.com (which fielded two teams) and Recognition Express, plus Making Money Magazine and the Shepshed Dynamos themselves.
'We are delighted to have raised £20,000 to date and are very grateful to all participants, as well as the many people, especially franchisors, who have donated money and supported these fantastic events.'
