One of the worlds leading hotel franchises, Choice Hotels Europe, has been awarded full membership of the British Franchise Association (bfa). Choice Hotels Europe, the UK subsidiary of Choice Hotels International, received the award after demonstrating a proven operational track record amongst existing franchised hotels here in the UK as well as an established global and European network of more that 6,000 hotels.

CEO of Choice Hotels Europe, Duncan Berry said: "As the only pure franchisor operating in the hotel sector we are delighted to have been awarded full membership by the trading body responsible for promoting, maintaining and accrediting the ethical code of conduct that franchised businesses in the UK are expected to adhere to."

Choice Hotels is undertaking a huge expansion in the United States with over 600 hotels under construction, awaiting conversion or approved for development. In other markets more that 100 hotels are in the development stages including 40 in Europe.

The hotel franchise is always looking for prospective hoteliers to join the Choice Hotel team. A recent survey undertaken by Choice Hotels in the UK found that franchise owners and general managers rated sales and marketing expertise and the ability to multi-task as the most essential skills and attributes required by today's hoteliers.

"These results verify the value to independent hoteliers of operating under a brand. The areas they have flagged as critical to running their business can be provided through a franchised relationship. We are interested in working with other individual hoteliers and independent hotel groups who want to benefit from a global brand and the worldwide infrastructure that Choice Hotels International provides," said Berry.
