Choice Hotels International, Inc has appointed a new Senior Vice President for its international division. The global hotel group, which owns the Comfort, Quality and Clarion brands and is one of the largest lodging franchisors in the world, has promoted Mark Pearce to Senior Vice President, international division from his previous position as Vice President of the international division.

In his new role Mr Pearce is responsible for the overall strategic direction of the company's international division and the expansion of the company's non-USA operations, with primary focus on accelerating Choice Hotels International's growth internationally. Mr Pearce will continue to report to Bruce Haase, Executive Vice President of global brands, operations and marketing.

Mr Haase said: "Throughout his tenure at Choice, Mark has played an integral and significant role in helping to overhaul the company's global business operations and establish its strong footprint in a variety of international markets, which today includes more than 35 countries and territories. As a result of Mark's efforts, our international offering is stronger than ever with a wide range of high-quality, high-value brands that are recognised by customers worldwide."

Mr Pearce added: "I am delighted to be leading the company's growth in the international markets. We plan to focus extensive development resources on growing our presence in markets such as Europe and India, and we're looking forward to the great development potential that it holds for our brands and our hotels."
