Since Mike and Elaine Hurley launched their Dream Doors franchise two years ago they have broken many of the company’s sales records.

At the end of their first year of trading the husband and wife team achieved a £615,000 turnover, which was more than three times what is forecast for new Dream Doors franchise owners. Now, with £187,000 of kitchens and kitchen facelifts sold in one month – and £69,000 in a single day – the Hurleys have shattered all previous sales records held within the 12-year old brand.

Mike Hurley, who previously worked as an IT Director, said: “We don’t feel we are doing anything different than we’ve done before. We have a great concept, fantastic products and we deliver on our promises. We’re certainly putting in the hours, but the rewards are there. And we’ve smashed last year’s figures already, selling more in a month than some do in a year. In fact, we sold more in a day than we’ve done in most of our previous months.”

“That’s a staggering figure for any franchised business at any time, let alone among the doom and gloom of the current economic climate,” added Troy Tappenden, Managing Director of Dream Doors. “With empty shops on the high street and household names going out of business, potential franchise owners are more nervous these days, wondering whether their money, and their futures, are safe.

“Mike and Elaine have shown what can be achieved in this business, and they’re not alone. We have a number of franchise owners that turnover £80,000, £90,000 and £100,000 months, and net six-figure incomes. As a brand we were up almost 20 per cent in 2009 and 2010, and we’re up even more this year. Dream Doors won’t just ride out the recession. We’re growing, and we’re taking more and more market share every day.”
