Before becoming a franchisee Andy was a joiner by trade and had worked in the kitchen industry throughout his career. Keen to work for himself he went to the British Franchise Exhibition in Manchester with his wife Shelley in search of a new business venture. Although the couple originally dismissed the Dream Doors concept because it was his trade and he was keen to try something different. After a discussion with the Dream Doors representatives at the stand they were left impressed by the company' attitude and professionalism, which led to a follow up meeting at the Dream Doors head office in Gosport.

Since becoming franchisees Andy says: 'Dream Doors been there every step of the way and time has never been an issue. It's nice to have a regular input, they'll turn up to see how it's going and it's all on a personal level.

After 10 months, business was going so well that Shelley left her part-time job and joined the company full time. The couple also decided to employ a full-time fitting team.

Shelley comments: 'Our figures show that having a showroom does make a difference and that all our hard work has certainly paid off!'
