New Dublin-based FDS Master Franchise Owner, Mr Connellan has big plans to expose a greater number of Irish businesses to the benefits of franchising and represent them internationally. He said: “Over the last year or so I have got to know Roy and Judy and they ooze passion for the franchising industry, which is something I fundamentally believe is right for Ireland. “I looked at some other franchise businesses to invest in but this is a nice business and the consultancy side of it is something I am very interested in, I think franchising makes an awful lot of sense.”

Mr Connellan’s collaborative launch programme will incorporate comprehensive marketing to establish his business as a hub for franchising activity. He added: “Currently, Ireland is a small market but it is one that needs to be exposed to franchising more. There are some really clever brands within Ireland that could really benefit from the franchising model and so I suppose my priority is to represent Irish brands and bring them to international markets, FDS enables me to do this.”

In the same week as Mr Connellan’s appointment was announced, Graham Angus joined the franchise consultancy firm as Managing Director for FDS Scotland. Mr Angus will be responsible for all franchise consultancy matters North of the border and will be available to assist brands looking to franchise, backed by FDS’ 32 years of franchise experience, with maximising the profitability of their business.Prior to making his investment in the franchise consultancy business, Mr Angus had been a successful franchise owner with Mail Boxes Etc. in Stirling and is therefore well versed in the intricacies of the franchising world.

He said: “My immediate plans are to establish FDS in Scotland and to, over time, make it the number one consultancy firm for franchises in Scotland. So far the training has been extremely comprehensive, as you would expect from a franchise advisory business.

“I have been a long-term reader of The Franchise Magazine during my time at Mail Boxes Etc. and was made aware of FDS via an advert online. I subsequently met Roy at the show at the NEC and we have just gone from there. FDS was really the only option I wanted to explore and it has so far been very professional.”
