Baskin Robbins International has opened its first Australian franchised store since the group seized back its franchise rights from Allied Brands.

The new Baskin Robbins store was launched in Camp Hill, Brisbane and is owned by Steve McLeod. Baskin Robbins is hoping that this is the first of many new outlets to open across Australia.

Baskin Robbins President and COO Srinivas Kumar said: “Baskin Robbins is the number one franchised ice cream brand around the world with almost 6,400 ice cream shops in 39 countries. Australia has fantastic opportunities for growth, both through new and existing franchise owners, which is evident by the opening of our first new store under Baskin Robbins International ownership.

“We are actively looking to increase the number of Baskin Robbins outlets in Australia and are excited about the level of interest that is already evident in the market.”
