Specialist franchise law firm Hamilton Pratt has been honoured by winning second place in the Niche Firm of the Year category of the Law Firm of the Year Awards. The event took place at the Dorchester House Hotel in Park Lane, London on 25th June and was compared by comedian Michael McIntyre.

"The Law Firm of the Year Awards really are the legal Oscars in the UK so it was a great honour to be shortlisted and an even greater honour to come second,"said Senior Partner John Pratt (pictured above, top left, with other members of the firm). "We are the first firm specialising in franchising to have been shortlisted for our franchise expertise and so it really is good to know that franchising is, at last, on the map in terms of legal recognition and if we have contributed to this process then I am doubly delighted."

Hamilton Pratt was established five years ago and confirms that it represents nearly a third of the full members of the British Franchise Association. In its submission to the awards, the firm reported that: "Of course we rely on the excellence of our legal advice to retain and attract clients but, in addition we: don't simply provide a service, we provide the service that our clients want; achieve impact, practicality and relevance and not just technical accuracy; have entirely transparent (and fair) fee arrangements."
