Great American Cookies, a USA-based quick service restaurant franchise, has opened its first outlet in Mexico. The outlet was the first to open under a Master Franchise agreement signed in October 2008, which will see 30 Great American Cookies and 15 Pretzelmaker stores launch in Mexico over the next 15 years. Both brands are owned by NexCen Brands Inc.

Kenneth Hall, CEO of NexCen Brands Inc, said: 'Our ability to consistently secure new franchise agreements and open stores around the world, demonstrates the transportability and popularity of our franchised brands. The new Great American Cookies store in Jalisco marks the first of many upcoming openings in this market and we are excited about the future opportunities in Mexico.'

Chris Dull, President of NexCen Franchise Management Inc the franchising subsidiary of NexCen Brands, commented: 'We have established a solid platform for our franchise owners to open Great American Cookies and Pretzelmaker throughout North America. The opening in La Gran Plaza Fashion Mall, a premier shopping destination in Mexico, was a success with strong customer demand for Great American Cookies' fresh gourmet products.'
