Talking Tots, a provider of communication classes for toddlers, is continuing to expand its franchise network across the UK.

The company was set up in 2005 and provides fun, interactive classes that aim to boost preschool children's communication and social skills. The first two franchises were launched in September 2007.

Talking Tots co-founder Lisa Houghton said: "As paediatric speech and language therapists, we saw on a daily basis that increasing numbers of children starting school were unable to make themselves understood. Teachers were telling us that children arriving in reception classes often struggled with basic social skills such as listening to instructions or taking part in group activities."

Talking Tots has set itself apart from other pre-school classes by focusing on teaching children communication and social skills. "Parents are so keen to enroll their children in Talking Tots that many of our franchises have long waiting lists for classes. We have been absolutely amazed by the interest," said Houghton.

Talking Tots currently operates in many locations across the UK, and the company is actively recruiting new class leaders nationwide. The company's franchise package includes full training, all class materials and ongoing support for administration and marketing. Franchise owners do not need formal qualifications, but should be energetic, self-motivated and have experience of working with pre-school children.
