First presented in 1982, this award is conferred upon an individual who is actively building a successful business. Paul and his wife Lori founded Home Instead Senior Care in 1994. The company now has more than 700 franchises in the US and 10 other countries, including the Master Franchise based in the UK.

'Mr. Hogan's award is a wonderful recognition of his visionary leadership in founding Home Instead Senior Care with his wife Lori,' says Trevor Brocklebank, who introduced the Home Instead Senior Care concept to the UK, where the company now has 14 offices.

'The foundation of franchising is built upon the visions of leaders like Paul Hogan,' said International Franchise Association President Matthew Shay. 'Paul's ability to create a concept that not only meets the important needs of today's growing population of older people, but offers business opportunities for future generations, is evidence of his unique entrepreneurial talents.'

A personal caregiving situation prompted Paul and his wife to found the company 13 years ago. Helping to care for his grandmother brought home the need in his own family for non-medical senior care and companionship that could help older people live independently at home. In 1995 Home Instead Senior Care was one of the first organisations to apply the franchising model to home care.
