Kare Plus has signed a series of new contracts with national care home group HC-One and two major Recruitent Process Outsourcing companies - Commensura and Matrix, which provide managed solutions for local authorities nationwide.

According to Nik Smith, Operations Manager at Kare Plus, together these contracts represent millions of pounds of potential business for Kare Plus franchise owners. Smith said: “HC-One, which operates 240 care homes across the UK, spends an estimated £10 million per annum on outsourced care and Nursing staff and has appointed Kare Plus to its approved agency list. Commensura and Matrix tender for government and council contracts including procuring services for care and nursing homes; they supply 29 local authorities with care and nursing solutions for adults and children, so their combined annual spend on outsourced services is massive.

“To be on the supplier list for these giant procurement specialists is no easy task, you must meet stringent criteria and deliver reliable and consistently high quality services to be considered. In fact, the list for Commensura is now closed for the next three years, so in gaining this contract, Kare Plus has achieved a fantastic coup for our franchise owners.”

Kare Plus is already on the approved agency list for De Poel, which provides temporary, permanent, contingent and contract resourcing solutions, and counts some of the industry’s largest care home and private hospital operators among its customers, including Four Seasons Health Care, Barchester Care Homes and the Priory Group.

Smith added: “The NHS is the biggest opportunity for Kare Plus right now. We are re-negotiating our current tender with the NHS Nationally where the annual spend on agency procured staffing is in excess of £250 million per annum, with the potential for franchise owners to make very high margins by providing specialist nursing staff. As the only franchisor offering both domiciliary and medical care, we are perfectly placed to secure this lucrative additional work for franchise owners joining us in key territories across the country.”
