US doughnut store franchise Krispy Kreme has awarded its Indonesian Master Franchise to department store and specialty retail company PT Premier Doughnut Indonesia, which is principally owned by PT MAP Premier Indonesia. The agreement will see the development of up to 20 new Krispy Kreme units.

"We are pleased to be announcing Krispy Kreme's expansion into another international market," says Krispy Kreme CEO Daryl Brewster. "We look forward to continued international development as we move forward with the company's restructuring."

The announcement means that Krispy Kreme has international franchise agreements in place to open up to 190 new stores over the next five years.
