Franchisees join the Mac Tools family from a diverse range of backgrounds; whether it be from a career as an automotive technician, a life in sales, or the construction industry, there are no barriers to success with the world-renowned tool business as the latest new recruits ably prove.

Steve Reid, who is going on the road with Mac Tools in the Bath area, spent more than 20 years in the building trade before injury meant he had to make changes to his work life. When talking about why he chose to join Mac Tools he says, “I genuinely believe that Mac Tools has a fantastic product, and I want to sell that to the guys out there and make a difference in my area.” On the positives of his change of career Steve says, “I like that fact that it gives me a chance to maintain being self-employed and allows me to run my own business the way I want to, towards my retirement.”

Mike Roberts, who is the new Mac Man for Leeds West, also joins Mac Tools from a construction industry background. Mike spent 40 years in construction equipment sales, so is ideally placed to bring his skill set to a different environment. Talking about that change he says: “I chose to join Mac Tools because I wanted to be my own boss, I wanted to sell a premier product, and I was keen to be in a job that can grow as I put the work in. I’m looking forward to getting out there and meeting the customers and achieving my goal of getting my first toolbox sale under my belt.”

A background in sales is a common theme among many of those that come to Mac Tools and it is something Saran Bagga has in common with Mike Roberts. In Saran’s case, his work related to retail sales management and property sales before he made the move to Mac Tools.

“What really appealed to me about the role was the flexibility that being a Mac Tools distributor can offer,” says Saran. “I’m looking forward to being able to take control of my own schedule and make a difference in my area.”

Rob Gell, who also joins the Mac team this month, commented: “For the last 15 years I’ve been a Mercedes-Benz technician working on commercial vehicles,” says Rob. “I reached a time in my life where I really wanted a change of direction. I knew I wanted to work for myself and Mac Tools has given me the motivation I need to make a success of my business. I’m also developing new skills that I can apply to other areas of my life as well as my work.” Rob continues with his enthusiasm for his new life with Mac Tools saying, “I’m looking forward to getting out on the road, meeting everyone in the garages and providing a good product and service to them all.”
