Ink cartridge refill franchise franchise Cartridge World has announced its expansion plans for Asia. The company has awarded deals to Master Franchisees, which will see 500 locations opened throughout China and India, plus 100 throughout the Philippines, Vietnam, and Malaysia, by 2011.

"With more than 1,300 stores across 36 countries, it is clear that consumers and businesses have an appreciation for alternatives to expensive ink and toner cartridges," says Burt Yarkin, CEO of Cartridge World North America. "Having grown to nearly 440 stores in three years, the quick success of Cartridge World throughout the United States proves that the company is ready to expand into the Asian markets."

The Master Franchisees are Lloyd and Alex Goudge and Tang Bo (China), The AFL Group (India), Eckart Dutz and Tran Tinh Minh Triet (Vietnam), Mr Wong and Helen Tiong (Malaysia) and Judi Leonardi (India). Further expansion is set for Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, the Maldives, and Bhutan under the direction of the India Master Franchisee, while Cartridge World is seeking Master Franchisees for Japan, Thailand, Southern China, and Taiwan.

"Cartridge World is an example of a perfect retail model that is able to cross cultures," Yarkin adds. "There are billions of printers and office equipment around the world - all will eventually need replacement ink and toner. We offer entrepreneurs a proven business model that has international brand awareness. For consumers and businesses, Cartridge World offers a safe, less expensive option for their increasing ink and toner needs."
