Merry Maids has awarded its franchise owners' top employee with its Merry Maids Team Member of the Year award. The cleaning franchise presented the award to Tracy Middleton who works for the Merry Maids Flyde and Blackpool franchise. Tracy beat 850 other Merry Maids employees across the UK to win the award.

Nicky Morris, Merry Maids Fylde and Blackpool franchise owner, said: 'Tracy was my first employee, so I was delighted that she was nominated by her colleagues for Team Member of the Year 2008. She develops great relationships with customers and colleagues alike and has proved to be an invaluable, dedicated employee who always gives more than 100 per cent.'

Each of the 100 Merry Maids businesses across the UK was invited to submit nominations for the Team Member of the Year award. Merry Maids is part of a national network of franchised businesses, operated by one of the UK's leading franchisors ServiceMaster Ltd. Nominations were put forward by colleagues to business owners and then submitted to ServiceMaster, for consideration.

Managing Director of ServiceMaster Ltd, Steve Emmerson, presented Tracey with an engraved glass award, a bouquet of flowers and a cheque for £250. Steve commented: 'We had some great nominations for the award but we felt that Tracey really stood out as a dedicated team member. The endorsements she received from her colleagues and customers really demonstrated her positive attitude and willingness to help others.'
