She says: 'It took over a year of researching different opportunities, attending exhibitions and doing groundwork. The franchise that impressed me was (domestic cleaning service) Merry Maids, when I met the franchisor head office team they had an extremely personable approach. I was encouraged to speak to other franchisees and this gave me a greater sense that this was an opportunity that would work for me.
'Merry Maids is still providing the same level of support it gave me during my launch. There is a very strong network between the franchisees and the franchisor and although we are independent there is always close contact between the franchisees. There is no competition and we are all there for each other.'
