To celebrate Millie’s Cookies 25th year of trading, it hosted the first global Millie’s Cookies Ice Off Championships, which was held in London on the 13th August.

Vicky Pullen (pictured), 19, from Millies Cookies Watford won the Ice Off Championships and was awarded the title of Creative Cookie Designer of the Year as well as winning an iPad. It was Pullen’s redesigns of the Millie’s Cookies Cookie whirl, Cookie pop and entry Celebration Cookie of a tiger face which got the judges attention.

Following on from her entry design of a tiger face, Pullen re-created a tiger cub onto a Celebration Cookie using just icing.

Pullen said: “I was not expecting to win especially as the competition was really tough but I am delighted to be Creative Cookie Designer of the Year. I’ve really enjoyed the creative process and I’m looking forward to training my colleagues at Millie’s Cookies and sharing my passion for icing cookies with them.”

As well as uncovering Millie’s Cookies undiscovered talent, the competition also created a commercial benefit, with increased sales at the regional heats held at shopping centres across the UK and heightened brand awareness via live competitions and press coverage.

Millie’s Cookies Brand Manager, Michelle Graham-Clare said: “All of the finalists delivered creative yet commercial designs, which I could envisage selling well in-store but it was Vicky’s lifelike tiger cub design that earned her the trophy on the day. This championship has been a fantastic way to celebrate our 25th year and the talent of our teams throughout all of our stores.”
