Mr Electric has reported an increase of 30 per cent in the number of new franchisees during 2008. The influx of new franchisees joining the company proved that those looking to venture into the world of business are realising the benefits of working with the support of a parent company.
Managing Director of Mr Electric, Clive Houlston, says: 'During 2008, we saw no less than 25 franchise areas start their own business under the Mr Electric umbrella, which is a healthy 30 per cent increase on the number of new franchises we supported in the same period for 2007.
'Our new joiners are wising up to the benefits of being part of our organisation and the advantages of buying a franchise with us as we're offering a safer and more reassuring option for those looking to become their own boss.'
Highlighting the benefits of franchising to those who are looking for a new business opportunity, Clive adds: 'There are a host of advantages associated with starting a business franchise with us, including the security of working with a proven business method. Interested parties would be buying into an organisation that is already successful and we will pass on our expertise, training, support and an in-depth knowledge of the service sector to our franchisees.
'Recent research demonstrates that of all the businesses starting today, only 20 per cent will still be trading in five years time, as inevitably starting a new business comes with a steep learning curve. Franchising, however, reduces this learning period dramatically as other's past experience can be used to help those starting out. As a result reassuringly 80 per cent of franchisees will still be trading in the same five year period, which highlights the tried and tested franchise formula.'
Among the new franchisees that came on board during 2008 are Steven Telfer and Denise Petter who look after the Northumberland, Durham and Sunderland region, Terry Phillips who covers the Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Northamptonshire area and Mohammad Kaid who is now servicing the Oxfordshire patch. The new areas mean that Mr Electric's service and product offering is now available to greater number of UK residents and businesses.
Clive comments: 'The success we have seen so far this year just further cements our position as one of the UK's leading franchising organisations. Franchising allows the perfect combination of big company best practice delivered passionately by dedicated local business owners. This mix of good practice and consistently high levels of client focus has enabled us to be the success story we are today.'
