The franchise owner of the South Wales Business for Breakfast location is urging local companies to join its regular networking events to help generate regional growth.

Business for Breakfast is a networking organisation that has helped SME’s in the area to beat the recession by meeting regularly and getting to ‘Know, Like and Trust’ fellow members in order to refer business leads and to share contacts. According to the company this has generated over £15,000 of local business in five meetings.

Now approaching its third birthday, the group meets at The Crossways Restaurant, Pontypandy every other Tuesday morning, where guests and members enjoy a breakfast before having the opportunity to tell the group about their businesses, listen to Business Spotlights from fellow members and get the chance to give and receive business leads.

Merv Smith, Regional Director, said: “Many businesses are looking at cost-saving initiatives and now is the perfect time to evaluate the marketing budget and activities and assess what is working.

“Networking is a marketing element which is, and will continue to be, an invaluable way to attract new clients, suppliers and make strategic alliances. By working with other business, it also provides the most cost effective, route to many markets.”

As well as generating money for local businesses, the networking events have raised £1,400 for Macmillan Cancer Support, and the company plans to raise money in 2012 for St David’s Foundation Hospice.
