The British Franchise Association (bfa) has announced that the 25th annual HSBC Franchisor of the Year Awards, supported by Express Newspapers is open to applicants and will include new, dynamic categories to better recognise extraordinary achievements in the UK franchise industry.

Celebrating a quarter of a century as the industry’s leading honours for franchisors, this years award categories will include Emerging Franchisor of the Year, which aims to recognise the best new franchises on the market. The Innovation Award will honour franchisors that have enjoyed success in a new direction. In addition, the International Achievement Award will provide recognition for pioneering franchisors driving international growth. These categories are accompanied by Brand of the Year, the Franchise recruitment award and the evening’s top honour – The HSBC Franchisor of the year Award 2014.

Brian Smart, Director General of the bfa, said: “The awards showcase the country’s most outstanding franchise businesses, regardless of size or sector, championing them amongst their peers. The range of franchisors that have been celebrated over the past 25 years demonstrates the diversity found in franchising, and our new categories reflect this growing, vibrant part of the UK economy.” The new categories have been brought in to the ceremony to recognise a broader range of achievements including innovation, entrepreneurialism and export growth. All awards will be presented to winners announced at Heythrop Park, Oxfordshire on June 26.

Applications for the awards are now open and entry forms can be downloaded from the bfa website. Deadline for entries is 5pm on March 28.
