Ex-firefighter Bob Ward, Founder of Fire Compliance & Safety Ltd, stated the effects of this new law can be devastating and often just down to lack of knowledge and education, he explains: 'Many companies we visit have what they believe to be all that is required. Unfortunately down-loading a tick sheet and appointing an employee to carry out this work is not sufficient. A regular log book put together by a trained member of staff is the minimum requirement. With the liability resting on the shoulders of the business owner, it is vital they carry through their duty of care.'
