An ex-Chef has become the latest PC PAL franchise owner, providing mobile computer repairs to homes and small businesses. Phil Dawson (pictured top) recently changed his career to launch a PC PAL franchise in the Loughborough and Melton Mowbray territory.

Dawson has always had a passion for working with computers and was constantly fixing them for friends and family. So the obvious route was to find an opportunity where he could use his skills by doing something he loved, and make a successful business out of it at the same time. That was what led him to the PC PAL franchise.

Dawson said: “I was impressed by the level of response and support offered by PC PAL, and knew that it was a much safer option to start a new business this way, than to risk any amount of start-up capital on my own.”

Before launching his business, Dawson went through rigorous training and is now a fully qualified Microsoft Certified Professional and also has the CompTIA A+ Certification for hardware. He added: “As I also carry a comprehensive range of spare parts and diagnostic tools it means I can fix 99 per cent of problems on the spot in people’s homes or offices, which reduces the inconvenience to the customer of having to take the PC out to another location.”

Dawson is concentrating on building a successful business and aims to be recognised as providing an excellent and in demand service in the local community.
