Trevor who has a BSc from Leicester Polytechnic(now de Montfort University) in industrial and business systems, worked in sales and marketing for 12 years but fancied a change and wanted to be his own boss.
In May 2004 he steered his career into a different direction when he bought a franchise in Pinnacle Chauffeur Transport to cover Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire.
The company has 22 franchises across the UK, stretching from Aberdeen to Bournemouth, providing bespoke chauffeured transport - everything from taking senior management of large blue-chip companies and public bodies such as the NHS. The company also offers transport for private individuals and small groups.
These can be taken to and from a range of destinations including corporate meetings, presentations, sporting events, awards evenings, airports, and special family occasions.
In addition to his other travels, Trevor, from Sandiacre, is a familiar face in Erewash Borough and further afield because he is in the second year of a contract to transport the Mayor to civic engagements.
Franchisees all use top-of-the-range Chrysler Grand Voyagers with luxurious leather interiors and dvd systems and high quality safety features.
A particular strength of the company is the ability for franchisees to link up on work such as ferrying around international umpires for the English Cricket Board when one can pick up the passengers from London, for example, and bring them to Nottingham for a game at Trent Bridge after which Pinnacle will take them to another ground.
'By linking up we can offer a consistent high quality service,' said Trevor.
Franchisees can also join up with each other to provide extra cars for major events when needed.
But now Trevor is notching up a gear in his involvement with Pinnacle after a re-organisation of the franchisor in which he has become a major shareholder.
He has become Pinnacle's sales and marketing director with responsibility for developing the business nationally, supporting franchisees to develop their own local businesses and promoting the business's concept.
'I firmly believe in the concept of a truly national chauffeur business whose strength is the local knowledge and commitment of the franchisees,' said Trevor.
One of his first tasks will be to build on the company's success in delivering a national service to major customers.
The company will be advertising and seeking new franchisees to expand and enhance its network and because of Trevor's new head office role it will be looking for entrepreneurs to take on and develop the service in Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire.
