Franchise owner testimonials – Yours could be next...

“Without the backup of the franchise you wouldn’t know where to start. Whatever happens, someone, somewhere has been there before!” Sales of £213,000 in year one

Roy Easthope was fed up with corporate life, and says: “I didn’t want to be sat in the corner of the office, counting down the days to a pension!” With no previous experience in kitchens, he now runs his own business just four miles from home and gets to choose the hours he works. He adds: “Without the backup of the franchisor you wouldn’t know where to start. It has been a steep learning curve, but whatever happens, someone, somewhere has been there before! Business has been good and, one year in, I’m ahead of expectations.” Roy Easthope (pictured right, top): Dream Doors Croydon & Bromley

“We have two showrooms, and in 2010 were the first franchise owners to achieve annual sales of £1million.” Sales of £1,000,000+ in 2010

After making the shortlist in last year’s bfa Franchisee of the Year Awards, the Stewarts won first place in Dream Doors’ own annual awards. “Getting to the finals of the bfa awards was a real achievement,” says Andy. “There are more than 37,000 franchise owners in the UK, so to be considered among the best is a real honour. But our year finished on a real high by winning first prize in the Dream Doors’ awards for our sales from Dorchester. And by adding the sales from our Taunton showroom, we then went on to hit a combined £1million by the end of December.” Andy & Shelley Stewart (pictured right, second from top): Dream Doors Dorset

“We are so far ahead in our business plan that we are already interviewing for more staff.” £92,000 in March 2011

Since opening their showroom in March 2010, orders have continued to flood in for the Hurleys. And with just short of £600,000 of kitchen facelifts sold in their first year, they have already smashed their target set for year five! Mike says: “We are so far ahead in our business plan that we are already interviewing for more staff. I need time to focus on appointments as we’re getting so many enquiries.” He adds: “We had no experience in kitchens before doing this. Our Franchise Manager is great, and the support we get from Dream Doors far outstrips what is contractually agreed.” Mike & Elaine Hurley (pictured right, second from bottom): Dream Doors Oxford

“We’ve just moved to an even bigger showroom, and opened up on the high street.” Sales of £69,000 in February 2011

Chris and Paula hold the all-time monthly turnover record with a staggering £136,000 in April 2008. In 2009, they managed two further record months with £91,237 in February and £111,408 in November. With £550,000 of kitchen facelifts sold in 2009 from their stunning showroom just outside Lincoln, they won Dream Doors’ Franchisee of the Year award for that year. Chris says: “It was great to win the award last year and our sales in November clinched first prize. Since then we’ve ramped up business even more and have opened a flagship showroom on the high street.” Chris & Paula Hann (pictured right, bottom): Dream Doors Lincoln
