US-based quick service restaurant franchise Quiznos Sub has continued its Latin America and Caribbean expansion with the opening of its fifth restaurant in the Dominican Republic.
The Dominican Republic restaurant was opened at the end of last month in the capital city of Santo Domingo and is owned and operated by Lobarnechea Food Investment S.A.
Just before the opening of this new location, Lobarnechea Food Investment S.A has signed a franchise deal with QSR International, the parent company of Quiznos, to open 16 additional Quiznos restaurants over the next few years.
Alberto Miyar, parter in Lobarnechea Food Investment S.A, said: “We believe that we have positioned the brand as a high-quality, ‘cut above’, premier sandwich chain in the Dominican Republic and we are enjoying great success. We are excited to expand our presence within the country.”
Richard Eisenberg, President of QSR International, added: "Lobarnechea Food Investment has proven to be an excellent restaurant operator and Quiznos Sub franchise owner partner. We look forward to working with their leadership team to maximise the potential of the Quiznos Sub brand within the Dominican Republic.”
