This summer children staying at the Haven holiday centre site in Craig Tara in Ayr, Scotland are able to take part in performing arts classes provided by Razzamataz Theatre Schools.

This is the first year Razzamataz Theatre Schools has held classes at the holiday centre. The programme will provide children staying at Haven the chance to take part in six hours spread over two days of performing arts workshops that end with a short presentation on the main stage to an audience of friends and family.

The workshops are available to children aged five to 16 and enables them to learn a broad range of skills from pop singing and street dance to musical theatre and drama. Classes are taught by experienced teachers, many of who come from a professional performing arts background.

According to Razzamataz Theatre Schools, if this location is successful there are plans to role the scheme out to other sites, giving children all over the UK a chance to experience its classes.

Denise Hutton-Gosney, founder and Director of Razzamataz Theatre Schools, said: “Working with Haven is a wonderful opportunity for us to spread the word about the work we do at Razzamataz and it is incredibly satisfying to see how much the children benefit from the workshops they participate in while on holiday. In just a few days they can take away many new skills and experiences that otherwise they may not have had the opportunity to enjoy.”
