US franchisor Sign-A-Rama has granted a Master Franchise for Portugal. The US full-service sign company has appointed Fatima Medina and Carlos Ferreira as its Portuguese Masters.

Medina and Ferreira will open their flagship store in Lisbon. The company reveals that all Master Franchisees operate a franchise location, also known as a flagship store, for at least one year. The location is then sold to allow the Master Franchisee to dedicate their time to fully developing and expanding the Sign-A-Rama brand within their country.

One such Master Franchisee who has just sold his flagship store is the group's Spanish Master Franchisee Rafael Nunez, who has released his store to Jose Manuel Cruz. "I decided to sell to Jose because he is ambitious and I was confident he could lead the business in the right direction and represent the flagship store well," says Nunez. "Plus, he has over 20 years experience managing companies, so I knew his success would be a good example to show potential franchisees."

With more than 800 retail locations worldwide, Sign-A-Rama uses cutting edge industry software programmes to provide a full range of comprehensive sign and graphic services to both the private and commercial segments of the business community. "It is a very exciting time for our company right now," reflects President Ray Titus. "Our growth in Spain is indicative of the progress we are making all over the world. We are not only the world's largest sign franchise, but we are truly an international company with the capability to work with clients on a global scale."
