The event, which saw almost all of the 80 strong network attend the De Vere Dunston Hall hotel near Norwich, rewarded franchisees for their continued development and growth and recognised centres for individual projects, as part of the 'Sign Excellence' awards presentation.

This year, Signs Express recognised the achievements of Nick and Marion Baxter-Sibley, owners of Signs Express (Exeter), who were crowned 2005 Franchisee of the Year. The proud couple were also presented with a second award for Best Exterior Sign for their work on signage for the Met Office. The project, completed last year, also picked up a National Sign Industry highly commended award at the British Sign and Graphics Association annual presentation ceremony in 2004.

Other awards presented that evening included the 2005 Ambassador Award, which was presented to Signs Express (Warrington) owner Alvin Morris. The Signs Express Newcomer of the year award was presented to Dave and Kim Nurse, owners of Signs Express (Leeds). A special award was presented to Signs Express (Central Lancs) owner Alan Parkinson.

Signs Express Managing Director David Corbett commented: 'We have four very worthy winners who have all shown their dedication and determination to succeed.'
