At the official opening the Sheriff of Nottingham, Councillor Jeannie Packer, welcomed Sliderobes to the city. Cllr Packer said that Nottingham, as the largest city in the east Midlands region, was an excellent centre for trade, commerce and government and a 'vibrant, multi-cultural city.'

She explained that she was always pleased to support and encourage new enterprises and she applauded Karen and Leyton for working hard to build a new business venture that would employ local people.

The spacious new showroom, to be run by Leyton Howells and Karen Wild, is on Castle Park Industrial Estate on Nottingham's Queens Drive. Karen, previously a high flying Sales Manager for a local company, is confident that the new Nottingham showroom will prove every bit as successful as other Sliderobes showrooms across Ireland and the UK.

She said: 'There are very few houses - new or old - that offer sufficient storage to the modern household. The Sliderobes concept - designing storage space to use every single nook and cranny and creating a tailor-made solution to suit every single individual customer's needs - is I believe, unique in the UK.When customers come into our showroom, I promise that they will be overwhelmed by the huge array of different options on display.'
