Like any parent, the kids have to come first and, as a single parent, life was too hectic. I needed to take more control and that meant a job that allows me to manage my hours around the kids; a job that gives me a better work life fit; in short, I needed to be my own boss.

I've been fully booked since my launch and my diary is full for the next three weeks. Enquiries are coming from all over. I've picked up business from the neighbours of customers who have seen me working and asked for a quote and I've even got a job while filling the van up with diesel. A guy came over and asked me to have a look at his car there and then, so I gave him a quote and we booked it straight in the diary.
