The company is headed up by twin brothers Jon and Marvin Gurman, owners of the well-known Canadian apparel and accessories company JCorp.

The brothers hit upon the idea of a worldwide yoghurt franchise after Marvin enjoyed a ‘very impressive frozen yoghurt’ at a Californian shopping centre in 2007.Marvin said: “It was about a year later I was walking down St. Laurent Boulevard in Montreal, with my daughter, and we came across a Yeh! Frozen Yogurt, with a self-serve format and more than 40 different toppings.”

Both thoroughly impressed with the taste and presentation, the brothers embarked upon a plan to expand the brand across the globe. “We agreed we could really build this thing,” said Jon. “We call ourselves the Starbucks of the yogurt business.

“Most yoghurt places look like ice cream shops. That is not the case with us. From one location when we started, we will have 30 in operation by the end of 2013.”
