Less than five months since its launch, Taste Cardiff has been nominated for the Best Sandwich Bar in Britain award.
The cafe, which was opened in December 2011, is the first Taste franchise location to be launched. Taste Cardiff is operated by franchise owners John and Penny Earnshaw and has quickly established itself within the Cardiff city centre cafe scene.
This is the fourth year Taste has been nominated for the award, as the company founders Jill and Richard Willis having been shortlisted three times for the same award with their original Taste cafe in Romford.
Commenting on the award shortlisting Richard Willis said: “Since opening our first Taste in 2006 we’ve been working incredibly hard to ensure that our sandwich ideas are always exciting and new, and that we offer our customers value for money. By being shortlisted for the title of Best Sandwich Bar in Britain four years running we are once again proving that Taste’s sandwiches are still just as fresh, and the business model is still just as successful. We’re confident that this new accolade will add to the already solid foundation we have, as we move forwards and recruit franchise owners to open their very own Taste cafes across the country.”
John Earnshaw, franchise owner of Taste Cardiff, said: “We are incredibly proud of the success our cafe has achieved in such a short space of time, the Taste model is working fantastically for us and our customers are bowled over by the cafe, the décor and the menu choices. I’m sure this will be the first of many awards to come.”
