The Creation Station has recently celebrated its 10th anniversary at its national conference at Loughborough University.

Since 2002 over 64,000 children, families and organisations have been inspired by The Creation Station’s art and craft activities. In these 10 years, the company has expanded throughout the UK and currently has 60 franchises operating nationwide.

Sarah Cressall, founder of The Creation Station and who was recently awarded the title of The Best Female Franchisor in the UK, said: “It is wonderful to be supporting families and organisations with art and crafts experiences right across the UK. I started the business around the kitchen table to meet this gap in the market but also to have a rewarding, flexible career around my own three boys. It’s wonderful to be supporting other mums with the opportunity to run their own flexible and family friendly franchise.”

During the conference, The Creation Station held an awards ceremony to recognise its top franchise owners.

The title of The Creation Station Franchise Owner of the Year 2012 went to Amrit Bedi, who runs The Creation Station franchise in Glasgow. Bedi said: “I am delighted to have received such a prestigious award. I know there are many talented franchise owners out there so it’s a great honour to receive this award. I love running my children’s art and craft classes and birthday parties, so this is the icing on the cake.”

The award for New Franchise Owner of the Year went Louise Platt, who runs The Creation Station Franchise in Bedfordshire. Highly commended franchise owners included Neela Jackson from Manchester, Melanie Dawson from Wimbledon and Aby Mason from Littlehampton.

As well as recognising significant achievements, the conference is also designed to provide franchise owners not only practical skills and opportunities to further develop and grow their business, but also an opportunity to develop their own personal skills. The keynote speaker for the conference was Nikki Owen, an expert on charisma, who received a standing ovation for her informative and powerful presentation.
