The SUBWAY chain has more than 530 stores throughout the UK and sells four million sandwiches every month (800,000 in the Greater London region). It estimates it will overtake the number of Pret a Manger and Mcdonald's stores in Greater London by the end of 2005 and end of 2006 respectively.

The SUBWAY chain already has more stores than McDonald's in three London boroughs - Kensington and Chelsea, City of Westminster and City of London and is currently opening one new store per week in London alone, reflecting the huge growth potential of the SUBWAY brand. On a national level, it is anticipated that the SUBWAY chain will overtake the number of McDonald's stores by 2009.

Adarsh and Amar Radia, SUBWAY® franchisees of the 100th store in Greater London comment: 'We are delighted to have reached the 100th store mark in the Greater London area. Since opening our first store, the SUBWAY® chain has seen phenomenal growth in London and we are very excited to be part of that expansion.'
