At this year’s National Franchise Exhibition garment alteration and repair franchise, The Zip Yard, launched the second leg of its UK business expansion.

With 14 stores already open in Ireland, The Bardon Group, led by Managing Director Nigel Toplis, is eager to further expand the garment alteration franchise.

Having secured the Master Franchise Rights for the UK, Toplis will continue The Zip Yard’s rapid expansion by opening 48 stores throughout England, Scotland and Wales over the next five years.

Toplis said: “The Zip Yard is a very exciting opportunity, both for our group and potential franchise owners. The market is huge and there is high demand for alterations and repairs, with customers just crying out for a consistent supplier of these services. Potential franchise owners do not need to have any previous experience in repairs or alterations as The Zip Yard is a management franchise opportunity.

Franchise owners receive a franchise package, which includes a full shop fit, including two industrial sewing machines and other alteration and repair machinery, a computer and software, internal and external signage, fixtures and fittings, starting stock, as well as initial and ongoing training and support from the franchisor.
