The first The Zip Yard South of England location has been opened Haywards Heath.

The Mayor of Haywards Heath, Councillor John Sabin, officially opened Haywards Heath Zip Yard, which is located in Chelsea Arcade on the Broadway.

Already well established in Ireland and recently launched in Wales and Altrincham, The Zip Yard concept brings onsite repairs and alterations to the high street in purpose designed premises with fully trained staff. In addition to offering a wide range of services, The Hayward Heath Zip Yard centre provides an express one hour premium option for easy items such as turning up a hem or shortening sleeves.

Owned by local woman Jane Alleigh the centre opened in the first week of November and is already proving to be very successful.

Alleigh said: “From the minute we started the shop fit last month everyone has been very enthusiastic and welcoming. Businesses and individuals alike have been telling me that a centre like ours has been much needed in Haywards Heath. They are pleased that they can how have garments repaired or altered quickly and expertly on their doorstep.”

One of the services the new The Zip Yard will provide is low cost hem or sleeve alterations for school uniforms. Explained Alleigh: “As a mother myself I know how quickly children grow and how much hassle it can be to get a school uniform taken up or let down. Now they can do just that, as The Zip Yard hem and sleeve alterations are straightforward and quick jobs to do which will save parents both time and money.”
