Signage franchise Signs Express has signed three new franchisees who are set to start trading in the coming months. The three new franchisees come from all different walks of life. Mark Meadowcroft has taken his own business onwards and upwards dealing both in the print industry and signage materials sector. Mark will be taking on an existing franchise, which has been trading for over 10 years after he was attracted by its success and future potential. He was looking for a new approach and saw franchising as providing the stability required to take in a new challenge in a volatile economy.
Phil Harris has also bought into the Signs Express business model and will be taking over an established franchise when the existing franchisee moves overseas. Phil was previously part of a family business manufacturing springs. He was specifically looking for a business opportunity in the manufacturing sector and had never considered the franchise route. He was pointed in the Signs Express direction by a business broker who introduced him to the resale opportunity, which seemed to exactly suit his needs and location. When he saw that all the figures added up, the franchise support was an added bonus.
Pat Ginty will be establishing his new Signs Express business in Mullingar, Ireland. Having worked as a data network manager Pat wanted a new challenge and saw franchising as a way to move to a different direction. He had been particularly interested in the signage industry and had researched other franchises, however, the support package and the approach of the Signs Express team was just what he was looking for. Pat's new production centre will bring the number of Irish franchisees to six with further franchisees expected in 2009.
Sales and Marketing Director Tony Marsh comments: 'The new franchisees coming on-board have given us a positive start to a year that all businesses are concerned about. Times are in no doubt tougher than they have been for years but the new signings show that the franchise model is still an aspect of business that is going strong.
'Having been in operation for 20 years, we have experienced many fluctuations in the economy which have left us well prepared for different scenarios. The idea of becoming a franchisee with us is that you are in business for yourself, but not by yourself - a concept which gives our franchisees all the training and ongoing support required to become a successful operation in their own right.'
