Already highly popular in many other parts of the world, centralised vacuum cleaning systems are now gaining wide recognition in the UK. Having recognised the advantages of the system at an exhibition eight years ago, Andy Finch and his wife Katherine created VacuDuct Ltd specialising in the importation, sale and installation of such equipment. Having proved the business method and established a close relationship with one of the world's leading manufacturers, VacuDuct is preparing to expand nationwide by franchising.

Listing the advantages of the technology as: quieter operation, greater convenience, increased suction-power, more effective control of dust allergies and hassle-free emptying, VacuDuct's systems can be installed into existing premises as well as incorporated at the construction stage.

The company is being assisted by Ken Young of Franchise Development Services, and its first pilot franchisee has already been established in Milton Keynes. "The Managing Director quite rightly recognised that only by franchising would VacuDuct be able to create the necessary awareness of its benefits at a local level," says Ken, "which is undoubtedly the key to success for this quite remarkable product."

Office premises are not required and VacuDuct franchisees will initially be 'owner/operators' who will market, sell and install the cleaning systems. VacuDuct seeks applicants with a good balance of practical and interpersonal skills.
