Franchising and Licensing Association Singapore (FLA Singapore) has announced the winners of its FLAward 2009. The FLAward was founded in 2005 and aims to honour businesses that have achieved excellence, innovation and leadership in both the Singapore and international franchising and licensing fraternity.

Manhattan FISH MARKET won the Franchisor of the Year category, which recognises and rewards the most thriving franchise business in Singapore, as well as the International Franchisor of the Year category, which recognises franchisors who have excelled in their home countries. MindChamps PreSchool won the Promising Franchisor of the Year 2009 Award, which recognises new franchisors that have made an impact on the franchising scene.

Janet Ho, who is the franchise owner of a highly successful Kinderland franchise, was awarded the Franchisee of the Year 2009 Award for achieving the standards set by the franchisor and delivering consistently high service.

Douglas Foo, Chairman of FLA Singapore, said: "The FLA Award has established itself as a pre-eminent award and is highly respected by the local franchising fraternity. This year's winners represent the most outstanding franchisors and franchise owners whose success is testament to the immense benefits that come from franchising. We hope that these franchisors and their winning business concepts will serve as an inspiration to motivate more entrepreneurs to come forward and share their success stories. I would like to extend my heartfelt congratulations to Mrs Janet Ho, as well as to the other FLA Award 2009 winners - The Manhattan FISH MARKET and MindChamps."
