Beetle Juice Events launched in 2012 to ‘take the party to the people’. Since then, the business has expanded and developed via franchising to exploit local opportunities throughout the country.
Beetle Juice signs only a few franchisees each year and provides them with training and everything required to become operational, primarily an original 1970s converted VW campervan worth around £35,000.
Some franchisees operate as sole traders, others run their franchise alongside another job, and others work with a business partner.
The initial buy-in investment is set low at just £10,000 plus vat. Beetle Juice provides the use of the vehicle, driving insurance, AA cover, MOT, servicing and maintenance, plus operational and marketing support to help get you going.
Franchisees pay a monthly fee plus commission on sales at events – initially set at a low level of £500 plus vat, together with commission on all events, but as Beetle Juice grows your local business, the monthly fee increases to £1,500 plus vat, at which there is no commission on events you generate.
Typically, average takings at an event are £2,000 per day, and with 50 event days you can achieve a turnover of £100,000 within two to three years. The most successful Beetle Juice franchisee took over £140,000 in his first year.
The business has expanded year on year and as part of the Beetle Juice network, with the marketing provided and the relationships built, franchisees have been able to participate at such iconic events as Leeds and Reading festivals, Silverstone Formula 1, Carnaby Street Christmas party, Edinburgh fringe, Download, SW4, Creamfields and Boardmasters.
During 2019, the Beetle Juice brand attended over 100 festivals in the UK. It has been nominated for the UK Festival Awards’ Concession of the Year three years running.
Beetle Juice has long-term relationships with some of the largest event organisers, venues and caterers in the business, and works with many spectacular brands, including Campari and Aperol, Diageo, Glen Grant, Aussie Hair, Hilton, Google, Ben & Jerry’s, Volkswagen, and Live Nation to name just a few.
