Jamie left behind a career in the financial sector to join Kare Plus just two years ago following a negative experience with the care of a loved one. In just two short years, he has built an extremely successful business.
“I have 72 staff on my books, of which 50 are on the payroll every week,” Jamie explains. “We’re picking up new work daily. I have confirmed contracts with local authorities to provide regular care to people at home – which is great for cash flow – and I’m building a very lucrative private customer base that’s growing quickly too.”
Jamie is currently on the hunt for more top quality professionals, as he races to meet the growing demand for his services.
“I definitely need more staff for all the work we have lined up, but our success is built on quality of care and that depends on recruiting high calibre people, with suitable qualifications and the right attitude,” he says.
With the introduction of domiciliary care services last year, Jamie says business and turnover have rocketed, not to mention the personal satisfaction of providing care to his local community.
“Needs vary, from dementia care and challenging behaviour, to light support and companionship for elderly people that are frail, but otherwise fit and want to maintain independence. We have appropriately trained staff to fit any of these requirements, and we try to make sure the same staff care for the same clients so that a relationship of trust and friendship develops.”
