Before joining domestic and commercial cleaning franchise Well Polished, John Atkinson was a Site Manager at a recycling company, where he worked long days and was on call 24/7. John worried that, due to his unsociable working hours, he would miss seeing his two young children growing up, so decided to look into business opportunities that would offer him flexibility.
“I had been working at the recycling company for three years and when you’re constantly on call, it can really interfere with your family life,” explains John. “So my wife, Victoria, and I decided to look into starting our own business. John and Victoria run their West Yorkshire-based franchise from their home, which has made spending more quality time together as a family a reality.
“Since launching our Well Polished franchise we have been able to achieve our ideal work/life balance,” enthuses John. “Now I can fit work around parents evening and trips to the park. It’s great to have control over my days and know that I can always be there for my family.
