“Before launching my Reading-based Revive! franchise at the start of this year, I was a programme and logistics Manager at a company producing interactive furniture for schools, colleges and corporate businesses.
“I spent 15 enjoyable years at my previous job but I was missing out on my children growing up. As a result, I decided that it was time for me to get a career where I could be my own boss and fit work around my family.
“I researched all types of franchises online and it was on the British Franchise Association website where I first discovered the minor paint repair franchise, Revive!. It was completely different from my previous job but the concept of the business and the family atmosphere of the Revive! team attracted me to the franchise opportunity.
“On the Revive! four-week training course, I learned everything I needed to know to run my business successfully – from how to professionally polish a car and respray a bonnet to administration. I then spent a week with a Revive! trainer to get some genuine hands-on experience.
“I have been able to retain a strong customer base, including several garages in the Reading area, by networking and advertising in my local community while Revive! also has a Google campaign, which promotes its services.
“After I have been out to a customer, I send them a courtesy text to make sure they are happy with my repair service. I think it’s this sort of customer service that displays the quality service Revive! franchise owners provide.
“The flexibility my business gives me is great, I’m able to make it to my children’s sports days now. Business is doing really well – I am on target to achieving my first year’s turnover goal – and am hoping to hire my first employee next year to help me expand my business.”
