After seeing the success his brother-in-law achieved with CeX, experienced businessman Harkirat Singh Sagoo was eager to join the entertainment franchise

Before launching his Gravesend CeX franchise, Harkirat Singh Sagoo ran his own successful electronics and PC repair shop but, eager to achieve greater job satisfaction and expand his business portfolio further, he began his search for a new opportunity.

Harkirat first became aware of the second-hand entertainment franchise, CeX, when a family member joined the growing network.

“I had my own business before this and my brother-in-law, who is also a CeX franchise owner, mentioned the benefits of franchising so I chose to pursue my own CeX franchise,” explains Harkirat.

The CeX business model allows customers to buy, sell and exchange a focused yet complementary range of entertainment products, all of which are tested in store and sold with a 12-month warranty.

Already highly experienced within the electronics industry, Harkirat’s initial franchise training was tailored to his experience and knowledge. Franchise owners are provided with comprehensive training and valuable hands-on experience, ensuring they have all the skills and product knowledge necessary to run their business successfully.

“My first store experience took place in Harrow and prior to that I had spent a few days working in Enfield,” reveals Harkirat. “The rest of my training took place in the CeX Bromley store.”

All CeX locations are carefully evaluated so that franchise owners can obtain maximum turnover and a good level of profitability. Franchise owners, therefore, have an opportunity to draw a good salary as well as build up excellent equity in their portfolio.

“I have found the whole experience to be quite testing,” says Harkirat, “but I would definitely do it all again because it’s been so much fun working with CeX and my team.”

With only a few months of trading behind him, Harkirat is feeling confident about his end of year sales and the future expansion of his retail empire.

“My future plans include improving operations within this store and hopefully planning for shop number two.”
