There’s no better time to join Availl
With the care sector being one of the fastest growing in the UK at present, it is no wonder that we see new successful care franchises growing in the market. We introduce another up and coming care franchise - Availl
This year has started very positively for Availl, the Cambridgeshire-based care and nursing franchise, with enquiries into the franchise opportunity continuing to grow. The care sector is one of the fastest growing in the UK at present, and this has been further assisted by the latest Government announcements on the planned reforms in social care due to commence in four years time. Of more immediate effect is Care and Support Minister Norman Lamb’s announcement that an extra £40 million will be added to the Disabled Facilities Grant to help older people and adults with learning disabilities to remain independent in their own homes for long. Paula Spriggs, Franchise Manager, comments: “There really is no better time to consider a franchise in the care sector. An increase in the number of personal budgets, coupled with an aging population with more desire than ever to remain in their own homes for longer, means that we are perfectly placed to service this need. Our franchise owners provide carers, support staff, registered nurses and housekeepers to people living in their own homes, as well as temporary cover in establishments, such as care and nursing homes.”
Paula continues: “We don’t want to limit our franchise owners in terms of income potential and therefore in addition to older people, our franchise owners also support adults with learning disabilities, physical disabilities, mental health needs and brain injuries. This not only provides significantly more potential for growth, but also helps to place Availl as the number one care and support service in a local area.”
Availl are new to the franchise marketplace and therefore have minimal territory restrictions compared to several of the established franchised brands. No prior experience of the care sector is required, what’s more important is being a self-starter who will invest the necessary time to build the business, and become the face of Availl in the local area. Where a franchise owner has no care experience, Availl will provide assistance in the recruitment and training of a Registered Care Manager, which the franchise owner shall employ.
The total cost of an Availl franchise is £28,750 + VAT plus working capital, which includes:
- Franchise Fee
- Dedicated territory
- 10-day training programme plus intensive support for the first three months of operation
- Marketing Launch Campaign
- Full IT package including software
- Marketing materials and stationery
- Initial quantity of staff uniforms
- Year one Care Quality Commission (CQC) registration and United Kingdom Home Care Association (UKHCA) membership
Availl has established links with the franchising departments of the major banks and providing franchise owners have approximately £20,000 of their own funds to invest, the balance can be sourced via the banks (subject to status).
Katya and Radi Genkova were the first Availl franchise owners to open in Norwich in October 2012 and they continue to go from strength to strength. Although Katya had the added advantage of coming from a care background, the choice of care franchise was still key. Katya comments: “We researched all the care franchises in the market place. With Availl we felt the numbers added up for us, we liked them and trusted them.”
