Domiciliary care provider Caremark Ltd launched its first franchise in 2006 and since then has grown to an impressive 49 offices throughout the UK and Ireland. Providing care and support to clients within their own homes, Caremark aims to promote its clients' independence by delivering personal care, support and companionship. Founded in 2005 by Kevin Lewis, Caremark prides itself on its dedicated and personalised approach to the provision of care.
The homecare market is now booming, with more and more people requiring care and choosing to receive it at home. This has widened the opportunities even further for domiciliary care providers, opening up new market sectors such as services for young adults with Learning Disabilities or Mental Health needs, and in some cases children. Together with services for older people these place Caremark Franchise Owners in a strong position to expand and grow their businesses as the sector demands.
"Not only are we receiving praise for the services we are already providing, we are also being asked to diversify to incorporate services for specialist clients groups," comments Regional Support Manger Lorraine Hall. "We support our Franchise Owners to respond to the demand in their local area and maintain constant links with them to help continually develop their businesses."
As Caremark is a Management Franchise, Franchise Owners can expect to take a business development and managerial role, with a strong emphasis on still being involved in the day to day running. Caremark is looking for individuals who are personable, enthusiastic, dedicated, motivated and possessing excellent management ability, all of which make for an ideal Caremark Franchise Owner.
Caremark Franchise Owners are supported by a 12 strong team offering support in business development, IT, marketing, finance and care. Dedicated support managers are allocated to each Franchise Owner, providing a high level of support on an ongoing basis.
Following the initial two week training course, Franchise Owners can also benefit from ongoing training. Caremark has carefully developed its training services to continually support Franchise Owners.
"We have just completed an initial training course, attended by five new Franchise Owners, and will be holding another in September," explains National Operations Manager Sean Cragg. "We believe in continually developing our training resources so we can offer Franchise Owners the level of support they demand. Through regular regional meetings and through our consultative group we are able to use feedback from our Franchise Owners to develop training that suits their needs. This is very important to us and as the care sector continues to develop we must endeavour to keep one step ahead."
The Caremark network has recently grown by a further five new territories. As well as welcoming new Franchise Owners to the network, three existing Franchise Owners have expanded into additional territories, showing just how successful the franchise is and how much opportunity there is in the home care sector. "These are exciting times for Caremark," explains Managing Director Kevin Lewis. "We will be hitting the 50 office mark in the very near future and will be continuing this steady growth for the rest of the year into 2010 and beyond. We have spent time recruiting the right calibre of Franchise Owners and this has enabled us to ensure the Caremark brand develops and maintains its professional reputation, which is of extreme importance to us."

Caremark National Operations Manager
Having been with Caremark for two and a half years, Sean gives his perspective on its performance so far:
"The growth we have seen over the past two years has been exceptional, both with new Franchise Owners joining the network and in the services we deliver. Add to this the changing face of the industry and the challenges it presents, we are enjoying a hugely exciting period in our development, working with our Franchise Owners in laying the foundations for a successful future together.
"At Caremark, we take a real pride in offering the best advice and support you can expect from any care franchisor. We take into consideration local differences in the market and the skills of each individual, tailoring the support to fit with their needs. One of the great delights of my role is working with our support team who are completely committed to our network's success, all contributing to the smooth running of the business and making a great variety of skills and resource available to the Franchise'Owners.
"As I see it, the next two years will bring extensive, continued growth and I would urge anyone considering this type of opportunity to overlook Caremark at their peril!"
